As the maps reflect, the land surrounding the greater New Orleans area would not be lost due to a nearly 100-mile floodgate infrastructure project, which notably leaves most indigenous and Cajun communities left to bear the brunt of climate events and land loss. Although the City of New Orleans does not have official flood projections due to the Morganza floodgate project, I used historical flood maps to gauge where future inundation would occur at Jazzland.
